The accident, which occurred around 1 p.m. on January 17, has claimed the lives of three individuals, including Riesen Kimmerly, 25, and her boyfriend Tyler Underwood, 28, both of Hamlin, New York.
According to the Greece Police Department, Kimmerly was driving a vehicle that was stopped at a red light when it was rear-ended by a westbound pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Craig Cavallaro of Hilton. Tragically, Cavallaro was pronounced dead at the scene. Kimmerly and Underwood were immediately transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with severe injuries.
Riesen Kimmerly succumbed to her injuries on January 17, as confirmed in her obituary released on Saturday. Her boyfriend, Tyler Underwood, who was a passenger in the vehicle, passed away five days later on January 22. The couple’s puppy, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash, did not survive the collision.
Family members shared that both Kimmerly and Underwood suffered traumatic head injuries and multiple broken bones.
