With heavy hearts, we acknowledge the loss of Deyshawn Joshua Namock, age 25, of Longview, whose life came to an end following a tragic SWAT incident on January 27, 2026. This moment has left many families and an entire community processing grief, shock, and complex emotions surrounding a difficult and sobering situation.

According to an official update from the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office, detectives with the Crime Reduction Team (CRT) assisted the Kelso and Longview Police Departments in the search for Namock, who was wanted in connection with multiple felony cases and had an outstanding warrant from the Department of Corrections for Escape from Community Custody. Additional allegations included robbery, assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, residential burglary, and a domestic-violence-related incident reported earlier that same day.
During the Longview Police Department incident on January 27, Namock was alleged to have assaulted a female and taken her cell phone and vehicle. Investigators later located the stolen vehicle at a residence in the 100 block of Star Road in Kalama, where Namock was believed to be inside the home.
Law enforcement established containment around the residence and issued repeated commands for occupants to exit. A female associated with Namock, her child, and another adult resident safely exited the home and cooperated fully with authorities. The homeowners were contacted and were unaware of the alleged criminal activity; they also cooperated with law enforcement throughout the operation.
After no response was received from Namock, a search warrant was obtained and the Lower Columbia SWAT Team was activated. Numerous announcements were broadcast ordering Namock to surrender peacefully. While SWAT operators conducted a thorough search of the residence, a muffled sound was heard from the attic. Using a pole camera, operators located an unresponsive individual in that area.
Namock was extricated from the attic and was found to have what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A semiautomatic pistol was discovered nearby, along with the stolen cell phone belonging to the alleged assault victim. Cowlitz County Fire District 5 medics rendered aid, but tragically, Namock was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Cowlitz County Coroner’s Office responded and took custody of the decedent.
This loss is layered and deeply painful. While the circumstances surrounding this incident are serious and remain part of an official death investigation, the end of a young life is never something to dismiss or minimize. Deyshawn Namock was someone’s child, someone who mattered, and someone whose story ended far too soon.
As the community reflects on this incident, thoughts remain with all those affected—the families involved, the victims, and everyone left searching for understanding and healing. Situations like this serve as a stark reminder of the importance of support, accountability, and compassion, even in the most difficult moments.
May Deyshawn Joshua Namock rest in peace, and may all those impacted by this tragedy find strength, clarity, and comfort in the days ahead.
