Jayvion Nyrek Rice Obituary Death; 21-Year-Old Skyy Ernestasjah Logan Killed in Inman Shooting; Teen Arrested on Murder Charge

The Spartanburg County community is reeling after a fatal shooting Tuesday night claimed the life of 21-year-old Skyy Ernestasjah Logan and led to the arrest of Jayvion Nyrek Rice, 19, following an investigation by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched at approximately 9:02 p.m. to a home on Farm Creek Road in Inman after receiving a call that was initially reported as an accidental shooting. When deputies arrived, they found Logan suffering from a gunshot wound to her torso. She was rushed to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where she died roughly an hour later.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office confirmed Logan’s identity and announced that a forensic examination is scheduled. Early information provided to investigators indicated the firearm had been negligently discharged by another person inside the residence, identified as Rice. However, deputies later determined that the physical evidence and facts gathered at the scene did not align with the initial account given.

As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants were issued charging Rice with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Facility, where he awaits a bond hearing.
