A 50-year-old Meridian resident, Thomas Spencer, has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following a disturbing investigation into sexual assault and illegal drug use. The arrest comes after Meridian Police detectives received a tip regarding graphic content being shared within a chat room on the social media platform Telegram.

Investigation and Identification
The investigation began when authorities were alerted to videos Spencer allegedly posted of himself engaging in sexual acts with an incapacitated adult female. Through diligent investigative work, detectives identified both the suspect and the victim. It was determined that the victim—who was in an incoherent state during the recorded incidents—did not consent to the acts, was unaware the recordings existed, and had no memory of the encounters.
Long-Term Pattern of Abuse
Disturbingly, the scope of the case extends back several years. Police discovered that Spencer was allegedly obtaining pharmaceutical controlled substances through the mail via contacts on Telegram. During questioning, Spencer reportedly admitted to using these substances to drug the victim multiple times over a five-year period. These drugs were used to intentionally incapacitate the victim, allowing Spencer to carry out the assaults and film them without her knowledge or consent.
Current Charges and Next Steps
On February 6th, Spencer was taken into custody and booked on the following charges:
Five counts of Rape (Felony)
Five counts of Video Voyeurism (Felony)
Law enforcement officials have indicated that the investigation remains active. As detectives continue to review evidence and digital communications, additional charges may be filed.
