Richmond County Authorities Identify Pedestrian Killed in Deans Bridge Road Crash
AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Richmond County Coroner’s Office has identified Kimberly Drayton, 51, as the pedestrian killed in a crash Saturday night on Deans Bridge Road.
According to authorities, deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office responded around 8 p.m. to the intersection of Deans Bridge Road and Parwood Road after reports of a traffic accident involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, they discovered Drayton, a homeless woman, lying in the grass median. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Early stages of the investigation indicate that Drayton was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Deans Bridge Road. An autopsy has been scheduled to further examine the circumstances of her death.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident and have not released additional details about the driver or potential charges.
