Clinton Warren and Nelson Okuoimose Obituary Death: Tragic Interstate 20 Crash Claims Lives of Clinton Warren and Nelson Okuoimose in West Monroe

WEST MONROE, La. — A devastating crash on Interstate 20 in West Monroe claimed the lives of 46-year-old Clinton Warren of Vina, Alabama, and 45-year-old Nelson Okuoimose of Laveen, Arizona, on Thursday, February 12, 2026. According to the Louisiana State Police (LSP), the fatal collision involved two commercial motor vehicles and occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. just west of Louisiana Highway 3249 (Well Road).

The investigation by LSP revealed that Clinton Warren was traveling west in the left lane of Interstate 20 in a blue 2012 Freightliner, pulling a manufactured home. Nelson Okuoimose, a passenger in Warren’s truck, was also in the vehicle at the time. At the same time, a white 2013 Freightliner, pulling a box trailer, was traveling west in the right lane. For reasons still under investigation, Warren’s truck veered to the right and struck the white Freightliner. Following the initial impact, both commercial trucks veered left, entered the median, and collided with the Vancil Road overpass bridge support.

Tragically, neither Warren nor Okuoimose were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and both suffered fatal injuries, dying at the scene. The driver of the white Freightliner, who was properly restrained, sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The collision caused a temporary closure of westbound Interstate 20 as emergency personnel and investigators responded. Louisiana State Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to this catastrophic crash, working to determine contributing factors and whether any mechanical or roadway conditions played a role.

This tragic incident has left families, colleagues, and the local community mourning the sudden loss of Clinton Warren and Nelson Okuoimose. Both men are remembered for their dedication to their work in the commercial trucking industry and the impact they had on those around them. Authorities urge motorists to exercise caution and remain vigilant on the highways, especially when operating or sharing the road with large commercial vehicles.

The Louisiana State Police and emergency responders are continuing their investigation as the community grieves this heartbreaking loss.
