With profound sadness and heartfelt sympathy, we remember and honor the life of Daniel St. Peter, whose life was tragically cut short in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 12, 2026.

At approximately 1:46 a.m., troopers responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on the northbound off-ramp of Interstate 95 at mile marker 53 in Falmouth. The crash involved a single vehicle and a single occupant. Authorities identified the driver as 33-year-old Daniel St. Peter of Windham. Despite the swift response of first responders, Daniel was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the blue Honda Accord he was driving left the roadway and rolled. The northbound off-ramp remained closed for approximately 90 minutes while emergency personnel worked diligently to respond to the crash and process the scene. Portland Fire and Rescue assisted troopers during the response. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
While the details surrounding that tragic morning continue to be reviewed, the pain of this loss is already deeply felt by Daniel’s family, friends, and all who knew him. At just 33 years old, Daniel had so much life ahead of him — dreams to chase, goals to accomplish, and many more memories to create with the people he loved.
Those who knew Daniel describe him as kind-hearted, dependable, and genuine. He was someone who showed up when it mattered, who valued the people in his life, and who carried himself with quiet strength. Whether through a simple conversation, shared laughter, or acts of everyday kindness, Daniel left a lasting impression on those around him.
In moments like these, we are reminded of how fragile life can be. A single moment can change everything. As we grieve this sudden loss, we also choose to remember Daniel not for the tragedy that took him, but for the life he lived — a life that touched others in meaningful ways.
To his family, we extend our deepest condolences. No words can truly ease the heartbreak of losing someone so suddenly, but may you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and in the cherished memories you hold close. To his friends and community, may you lean on one another, share stories, and continue to honor his memory in the days ahead.
Daniel’s life mattered. His presence made a difference. Though he is no longer physically with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
