The community of Pine Bluff is mourning the tragic and untimely loss of 21-year-old Markeise Gipson, whose life was taken far too soon in a shooting Friday night. According to authorities, officers with the Pine Bluff Police Department responded just after 8:30 p.m. on February 20 to reports of gunfire at Two Brothers One Stop, located along South Blake Street. When officers arrived, they discovered Markeise lying unresponsive in the parking lot near the building, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite the swift response of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men were also struck by gunfire during the incident and were transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment. Authorities reported that their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, and they were last listed in stable condition.

Investigators stated that the suspects were seen traveling in a gray wide-body Dodge Charger with a black roof, spoiler, and hood scoop. At this time, the motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and the case is in its early stages. Law enforcement officials continue to seek answers and urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
