Police in Philadelphia are investigating a late-night shooting that left a man dead after a domestic dispute inside a home on Thursday night.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to a residence on the 1100 block of South Peach Street following reports of a shooting.
Investigators said a 30-year-old man, identified as Jaimeer Jones-Walker of Lansdowne, had been arguing with his girlfriend inside a bedroom of the home. Authorities say the disagreement was verbal and may have escalated into a physical altercation.
Chief Inspector Scott Small told investigators that the woman reported being attacked during the incident.
Police said the woman’s 11-year-old son then retrieved a handgun and fired a single shot, striking Jones-Walker. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly afterward and found the man unresponsive in the second-floor bedroom. He was pronounced dead by medics later that night.
Authorities said both the woman and her son remained at the home following the incident and are cooperating with investigators. Police also confirmed that the firearm involved in the shooting is registered to the woman.
At this time, no arrests have been announced. Officials say the case remains under active investigation as detectives continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
