Man Identified After Fatal Collision in Downtown Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who died early Monday morning following a traffic collision in downtown Los Angeles, officials said.

The crash happened at about 2 a.m. on Monday, January 26, near the intersection of Hill and Fifth streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities say the victim, 60‑year‑old Curtis Hosea, was crossing the street using a wheelchair when he was struck by a northbound pickup truck. Emergency responders were called to the scene and later pronounced him deceased.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police continue to look into the circumstances of the collision and have not announced any citations or charges at this time.

Officials have asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information to contact the Los Angeles Police Department’s Traffic Division to assist with the ongoing investigation.
