Loyd Alan Kerr and Rachel Kerr Florida Death and Obituary: Owner of Loaded T Nutrition and Partner Die in Thursday Incident Near Bradford–Clay County Line

Loyd Alan Kerr and Rachel Kerr Florida Death and Obituary – Florida authorities are investigating a tragic shooting incident that claimed the lives of Loyd Alan Kerr and his estranged wife, Rachel Kerr, early Thursday morning near the Bradford–Clay County line. The incident occurred at a double-wide mobile home located on Northeast 6th Lane, just off State Road 230, and has left the local community reeling.

According to the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the residence at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, after receiving a 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival, officers discovered 50-year-old Loyd Alan Kerr deceased near the porch of the mobile home. He was found with an apparent gunshot wound to the head, and a firearm was located near his body.

As deputies secured the scene, they learned from a neighbor that a woman also resided in the home. A search of the residence did not immediately locate her. Shortly thereafter, officers found Rachel Kerr, also 50, approximately 50 yards from the residence near an auto transport trailer. She had sustained a gunshot wound to the neck.

Emergency medical personnel responded quickly and attempted life-saving measures, but Rachel Kerr was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival. The deaths of both individuals were confirmed at the scene.

Sheriff’s Col. Brad Smith stated that two children, ages 9 and 11, were inside the home at the time of the incident. Fortunately, they were able to escape the residence and run to a nearby neighbor’s home without suffering any physical injuries. Authorities are ensuring the children receive appropriate care and support following the traumatic event.

Much of the initial information was provided by a female neighbor who went to the Kerr residence after being alerted to a disturbance. According to Smith, the neighbor encountered a man escorting a woman out of the home. When the man turned his attention toward the neighbor, the woman was able to flee. Investigators believe Rachel Kerr had been restrained in some manner and ran toward the parked auto transport trailer, where she was later found.

Further complicating the case is the couple’s recent history. Smith confirmed that Loyd Kerr had been arrested by Bradford County deputies on January 20 in connection with placing tracking devices on Rachel Kerr’s GMC Yukon in October 2025. Following that investigation, he was jailed in Clay County on charges including violation of a domestic violence injunction, probation violation, and resisting an officer without violence.

Loyd Kerr was released the following day on a $200,000 bond set by a Levy County judge overseeing Bradford County first appearances. The investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing as detectives work to determine the full sequence of events.

Loyd Alan Kerr was known as the owner of Loaded T Nutrition, while Rachel Kerr was remembered by those close to her as a devoted mother. Their deaths mark a devastating end to a complex and deeply troubling situation.

Authorities have not released further details as the investigation continues
