Plainview, TX – Authorities have identified the five adults who lost their lives in a deadly shooting early Saturday morning in the Seth Ward neighborhood just outside Plainview. The tragic event, reported at approximately 3:40 a.m. on the 2700 block of Upchurch Street, has left family members, friends, and the wider community reeling from the loss of loved ones.

The victims pronounced dead at the scene include Hector Alonso Sanchez, 28; Tanya Paola Valadez Rangel, 30; Rosalba Saenz Rodriguez, 47; and Saul Villa, 33, who authorities have identified as the assailant in the incident. Reily Joseph Zavala Barrientos, 21, was transported to Covenant Health Plainview, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Hale County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Texas Rangers, are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Officials have assured the public there is currently no ongoing threat to community safety as they continue to piece together details of what occurred that night.
