It is with profound sadness that Pairc Naomh Eoin C.S.C announces the passing of our dedicated member, Michael “Gaff” Gaffney, who left us last night. The news has cast a heavy shadow over the club, as members come to terms with the loss of a man who was not only a lifelong Celtic supporter, but the very heart and soul of our community.
From the earliest days of the club, Gaff was a true Celtic diehard whose unwavering passion for the Bhoys never faltered. His commitment was visible in every matchday gathering, every road trip, and every shared moment of triumph or disappointment. Whether travelling across Europe to follow Celtic or joining countless club trips closer to home, Gaff’s presence was a constant source of energy and unity.
What truly set Gaff apart, however, was his spirit. Through every high and low, he remained a beacon of positivity. He never complained, never sought attention, and always greeted everyone with a warm smile and an encouraging word. His optimism and good humour lifted those around him, making every journey and every matchday brighter simply by having him there.
To many, Gaff was more than a fellow supporter; he was a friend, a confidant, and a symbol of what the club stood for. His loyalty, kindness, and genuine love for Celtic embodied the values that bind Pairc Naomh Eoin C.S.C together.
