Bowling Green, Ohio – The Delta Music Boosters are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our beloved band director, Zach Karpuszka. Affectionately known as Mr. K., he arrived at Delta a few years ago, stepping into the shoes of a long-serving predecessor. He not only filled those shoes but, with his boundless energy, infectious humor, and profound passion for music, he made them his own, leaving an indelible mark on the school and community.

Mr. K.’s impact was felt from the first day he took the podium. His enthusiasm for music was contagious, inspiring students to reach new heights and embrace their creativity with confidence. Colleagues recall his innovative teaching methods, patience, and unwavering support, qualities that nurtured both individual talent and a sense of unity within the band program. Beyond technical instruction, Mr. K. taught lessons of perseverance, teamwork, and self-expression—lessons that will resonate with his students for a lifetime.
Those who knew him well describe Zach as a person who could light up a room with a joke, a smile, or a heartfelt word of encouragement. He brought people together not only through music but through the genuine care and mentorship he offered to every student, parent, and staff member he encountered.
As the Delta community grieves, memories of Mr. K.’s laughter, dedication, and love for music offer comfort. Though his life was tragically cut short, Zach Karpuszka’s legacy will endure in the melodies he inspired, the hearts he touched, and the countless lives he transformed through his passion and spirit.
