Thomas Arlotta, Authorities Identify 30-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Long Beach Collision

County officials have identified the motorcyclist who died following a traffic collision earlier this week in Long Beach. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim was 30-year-old Thomas Arlotta.

The crash occurred just after 6 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Anaheim Street and Linden Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Police said officers responded to the scene following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. When officers arrived, they located the motorcyclist and began providing assistance alongside the driver of the other vehicle.

The Long Beach Fire Department transported Arlotta to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, authorities said.

According to investigators, Arlotta was traveling eastbound on Anaheim Street when he entered the intersection at Linden Avenue. At the same time, a 2020 Mercedes-Benz was making a left turn onto southbound Linden Avenue from westbound Anaheim Street. Police said the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Authorities stated that the motorcyclist was separated from the motorcycle during the impact. No additional details about contributing factors have been released.

The driver of the Mercedes-Benz remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. Officials have not announced any arrests or citations related to the crash.

The Long Beach Police Department’s Collision Investigation Detail is continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the incident. Detectives are working to determine the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
