An 18-year-old identified as Lemarques has been arrested and charged with murder following a tragic and senseless shooting that unfolded after a casual meal with friends in Texas. According to reports, Lemarques had gone to a local Wingstop with several friends to grab food. The group ordered their meals To-Go and later gathered at a friend’s apartment to eat and spend time together.

What began as a routine evening quickly escalated into violence. After finishing his meal, Lemarques reportedly asked one of his friends for some of his fries. When the friend declined, what seemed like a minor disagreement took a horrifying turn. Authorities say Lemarques pulled out a firearm and shot his friend in the head.
The victim’s mother later shared her heartbreak, explaining that others inside the apartment initially believed the young men were joking around. The sound of laughter and casual conversation moments earlier made it difficult to comprehend the gravity of the situation—until it was too late. Her son was pronounced dead as a result of the gunshot wound.
Law enforcement officers responded swiftly to the scene and took Lemarques into custody without further incident. He has since been formally charged with murder and remains behind bars as the investigation continues.
The devastating incident has left family members and the community in shock, grappling with how a simple disagreement over food could escalate into irreversible tragedy. Authorities continue to urge young people to resolve conflicts peacefully and stress the serious consequences of gun violence.
